Last Night
04:32
|

Last night, as I was sleeping
I dreamt a blessed dream;
A fountain was flowing
Inside my heart.
Along what hidden waterway
Are you coming to me,
Spring of a new life
Where I have never drunk?
Last night, as I was sleeping,
I dreamt a wondrous dream;
I had a beehive
Inside my heart;
And the golden bees were making
From old failures,
White comb and sweet honey.
Last night , as I was sleeping,
I dreamt a marvelous dream;
A fiery sun was glowing
Inside my heart.
Fiery because it gave heat
Like a flaming hearth
Sun because it gave light.
It made me cry.
Last night as I was sleeping
I dreamt a blessed dream,
it was God
I had inside my heart.

The Waking
04:48
|
|||
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I have to go.
We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.
Light takes the Tree; but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Great Nature has another thing to do
To you and me; so take the lively air,
And, lovely, learn by going where to go.
This shaking keeps me steady. I should know.
What falls away is always. And is near.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I learn by going where I have to go.

Get Out of my Face

Thank you very much for your phone call
You were so concerned for me
And due to your concern
You wanted me to learn
I’m just like you
A depressed personality
You say you’ve always been a good sister
Protective looking out for lucky me
And due to your concern
You wanted me to learn
My anger runs deep
As only you can see
Get out of my face
You crazy crazy-maker
Underminer
Energy taker
But if you were gone
Who would there be
To let me know what’s wrong with me?
You say your anger’s like a paper tiger
That other people know that very well
But speaking just for me
Obviously
Your words have many times taken me to Hell
Get out of my face
You crazy crazy-maker
Underminer
Energy Taker
But if you were gone
Who would there be
To let me know what’s wrong with me?
So thank you again for your phone call
You know you really made my day
But I’d better prepare you
Cause I don’t want to scare you
I’m actually feeling ok
